David Thornhill broker and owner of Thornhill Real Estate & Auction Company, was raised with the business. David is a son of an auctioneer and real estate broker and started in the business at the age of 12 auctioneering with his father. He knows what works in today’s auction market. Thornhill specializes in marketing real estate at auction which creates great opportunities for buyers & sellers alike. David & Charlie both have a background in surveying, that knowledge is really a big asset to the seller when it comes to selling real estate at auction.

The excitement of an auction can be an addiction. As the sale moves along and buyers wait for that one item, they’ve been waiting for. David states, “The auction method has always been a fair & fast way to establish the value of a particular item on a given day”. It’s always exciting to see someone pay more that they expected to pay for an item and still be happy about it, only at auction would this method work. The story behind the item is half the value. David is repeating history by involving his family, wife, Brenda who has worked with Thornhill Auction for 35 years and his daughters as auction clerks and cashiers and his son Dusty as auctioneer.

David’s auction partner Charlie Kaimann, a licensed real estate broker and auctioneer, has been with Thornhill Auction Company for 26 years and offers his expertise in the estate, farm and real estate auctions. Charlie’s wife, Mary Kay is also a part of the real estate & auction team with over 25 years experience.

Dusty Thornhill, son of David Thornhill, is the 3rd generation auctioneer. Going to sales with his family at the age of 5 and learning the business from the ground up has been the guiding factor for Dusty to be the future of Thornhill Real Estate & Auction Co. Dusty has great pride in officially becoming part of the auction team, as he received his real estate and auction license in 2005.
